If the only violence you see in the world is the weather... you`re not watching.

I was in the principal's office the other day for my progress review. She said "So, you're not having trouble with any of the kids are you?" I said "No." because I wasn't. I got up to leave and we were both satisfied that nothing more needed to be said. Then I thought I should tell her. I mean it was kind of important I am working at a school. So I sat back down, "I have trouble being athoritative. I'm...I'm afraid of the kids." She looked at me for a minute. "Don't worry about it they'll listen to you, except maybe the 8th graders" she said. "Oh" I said "I haven't any trouble with them they seem to know what they can and can't do." "Well there you go, just be confident and do it, they'll do what they're told" she said. Good advice, I suppose. I wish I knew how to do that. I shook her hand, as one does and left glad to know that I didn't have to do that again. It was kind of awkward, I think, for both of us.
