At hockey games they play bad music. No matter what level of play or where the game is the music will be bad. Yet despite the aural torture communities seem to rally around a hockey team. Whether it is the Oilers of Edmonton or Port Royal Poissonier of Lamèque hockey teams seem to pull people together. Even the most disinterested Guelphite has seen a Storm game. I wonder if you can tell just by the feel of a place whether or not they have a hockey team. Can you see it in the eyes of a people that they don't get a chance to sit in the cold and cheer? Does it show that the ice where they come from is used only for free skate? Is hockey really that intrinsic?
